In addition to regularly rendering valuations for a variety of regulatory, tax, and transactional purposes, Crewe has been called upon to provide expert analysis and testimony in legal proceedings that deal with issues of corporate valuation and asset pricing. In a recent case, the plaintiff engaged Crewe to evaluate the valuation ramifications to the buyer of a FINRA member broker-dealer that was sold without full disclosure of certain regulatory violations that were ongoing at the time of the sale. As a result of our deep understanding of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 regulations that govern the broker-dealer community and expertise in valuation, we were able to provide the client focused, high value-add expert testimony that was an important element in the outcome the client sought and received.
